The
press-blow robot SMART M1/B is a new and innovative machine
for the automatic production of blown glass and crystal articles.
The six-axis robot is fitted with a new press-blow head specifically
designed and manufactured by Glass Service for this kind of
application.
The head has a sturdy structure and collects the glass ingot
from a suction robot by means of a pressing operation. It
features a large openable neck ring, with a diameter of up
to 140 mm and a pneumatic plunger with a 60 mm stroke. Thanks
to this pre-forming operation the glass or crystal ingot is
collected, manipulated, shaped and finally blown following
the same procedure of manual production, granting high-quality
finished articles.
The system includes an external additional device for the
pre-shaping of the glass integrated with the robot controller.
All the main parts of the robot are protected against the
heat given off by the melting furnace and the glory hole by
screens granting constant machine reliability.
Glass Service has specifically developed an easy-to-use and
flexible programming system GBL (Glass Blowing Language) that
allows glassmakers – even if they are not software experts
- to install the robot in any environment while achieving
high productivity as well as good quality after only a short
trial period.
