The
fire polishing robot was created for glassworks producing
high-quality articles in glass or crystal on which surface
polishing is carried out.
This fire-polishing robot is made up of an anthromorphic,
6-axes Comau Smart S2 robot, and equipped with a burner and
a gas combustion system.
This fire-polishing robot is an extremely versatile machine,
as it enables the processing of even the smallest production
batches, thus eliminating the high costs associated with normal
acid bath polishing.
A rotating table with two positions (more positions can be
supplied on request) is equipped with two spindles with interpolated
movement according to that of the robot. The combination of
the movement of the robot and the rotation of the spindle
ensures the complete coverage of the surface of the article
to be polished.
Other than being an environmentally-friendly system, due
to the complete elimination of the waste water discharge,
this system is also price convenient. After a first analysis,
it has been possible to evaluate that ‘hot’ polishing
is about 10 times less expensive compared to acid bath polishing.
